Make a Difference in KS1 - Exciting January Teaching Opportunity!
Are you a dedicated primary teacher looking for a part-time role where you can focus on what you do best: inspiring young learners and helping them thrive?
Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a part-time Year 2 Teacher to join one of our client schools in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, from January.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher seeking a better work-life balance while remaining fully engaged in the classroom. You will share the Year 2 timetable with a highly supportive and experienced permanent member of staff, ensuring continuity for pupils and providing a collaborative working environment.
With minimal planning required and the opportunity to work alongside an established colleague, this position would suit both experienced teachers and those looking for a fresh opportunity within Key Stage 1.
What Does the Role Involve?
As the part-time Year 2 Teacher, you will play an important role in supporting pupils’ academic development, confidence and readiness for the next stage of their primary education.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Delivering engaging, high-quality lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum.
*Supporting pupils’ progress in reading, writing and mathematics.
*Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging a love of learning.
*Working closely with your job-share partner to maintain consistency across the timetable.
*Adapting lessons and activities to meet a range of learning needs.
*Creating a calm, inclusive classroom where every child feels supported.
*Contributing to pupils’ development as they progress through Key Stage 1.
Planning requirements are minimal, allowing you to concentrate on teaching, supporting pupils and making a positive impact in the classroom.
The School and Team
You will be joining a welcoming primary school with a collaborative staff team, supportive teaching assistants and strong leadership. The school values teamwork and provides an environment where staff can work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for children.
The successful candidate will benefit from sharing the class with an experienced, permanent colleague who can provide guidance, continuity and support throughout the week.
Some pupils have additional needs, so experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) would be a distinct advantage. The school is looking for a teacher who is patient, adaptable and committed to ensuring that all children can access learning and make progress.
What Makes This Opportunity Attractive?
*Part-time hours: Just two days per week.
*January start: An opportunity to plan ahead for the new term.
*Competitive salary: Paid in line with the London Fringe Main Pay Scale, MPS1-MPS6, depending on experience and applicable pay arrangements.
*Collaborative working: Share the class with a supportive, experienced permanent teacher.
*Minimal planning: A reduced planning workload so you can focus on classroom teaching.
*Supportive environment: Work within an established school team with strong leadership.
*Valuable experience: Develop your KS1 teaching experience in a role that offers flexibility and professional support.
Who Should Apply?
We would love to hear from teachers who:
*Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
*Have experience teaching in a primary school, ideally within KS1 or Year 2.
*Understand the expectations of the Year 2 curriculum.
*Can deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities.
*Are confident working collaboratively with colleagues and teaching assistants.
*Demonstrate patience, flexibility and a genuine commitment to children’s learning.
*Have experience supporting pupils with SEN, or a keen interest in inclusive teaching.
