Full job descriptionSenior Oracle Database Administrator (Contract)
*Location: Blackpool or Newcastle (Hybrid - 3 days/week on-site)
*Contract Length: Until March 2027
*Status: Inside IR35
The RoleWe are hiring an experienced Senior Oracle DBA for a modernization programme. You will serve as the technical lead overseeing mission-critical database platforms, driving cloud modernization, automating infrastructure, and handling major incident escalations.
Key Requirements*Core Oracle: Strong production experience with Oracle 12c/19c on Linux and AIX.
*High Availability & DR: Deep expertise in Oracle RAC (ASM, AFD) and Data Guard setups.
*Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with public cloud (OCI or AWS) and writing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and Ansible).
*Migrations & Backup: Advanced RMAN backup/recovery, alongside migration tooling (Data Pump, GoldenGate, ZDM).
*Security & Governance: Implementation of TDE, TLS encryption, and secure cloud network segregation.
*Incident Management: Proven ability to lead incident triage and provide out-of-hours support when required.
Role Requirements*Based on-site 3 days per week in either Blackpool or Newcastle.
*Flexibility to join a scheduled out-of-hours on-call rota.
