Full job descriptionAbout the Role Street Cleaner We are seeking reliable and hardworking individuals to join our Street Cleaning team during the annual leaf-fall season. Working as part of a dustcart gang, you will help keep public highways, footways, parks, and public spaces clean and safe by collecting and removing fallen leaves and associated debris.
This is a physically demanding outdoor role that requires working in all weather conditions and as part of a team to deliver a high-quality street cleansing service.
Key Responsibilities Street Cleaner *Sweep and collect leaves from roads, pavements, gutters, and public spaces.
*Load collected leaves and green waste onto the dustcart.
*Work alongside experienced street cleansing operatives as part of a dustcart gang.
*Use hand tools and equipment safely and effectively, including brushes, shovels, and leaf collection tools.
*Assist with the removal of other street cleansing waste where required.
*Maintain a safe working environment for colleagues, residents, and road users.
*Follow all health and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
*Report any hazards, spillages, or issues encountered whilst carrying out duties.
*Provide a professional and courteous service when interacting with members of the public.
Essential Requirements Street Cleaner *Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work.
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
*Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards.
*Good awareness of health and safety practices.
*Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
*Ability to follow instructions and work to schedules.
*WILL NEED BOOTS AND HI-VIZ
Desirable Requirements Street Cleaner *Previous experience in street cleansing, grounds maintenance, waste collection, or environmental services.
*Experience working within local authority services.
