Full job descriptionFamily Costs Draftsperson – Legal Aid Location: UK Wide – Remote / Hybrid / Office-Based
Salary: £35-40k DOE
Job Type: Full Time | Permanent
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Costs Draftsperson to join the specialist Costs Team of a highly regarded national law firm.
Offering remote working anywhere in the UK, this role is ideal for a Costs Draftsperson with strong experience in Family Legal Aid billing, CCMS and high-cost Family matters.
You will join an established, supportive team, handling a varied caseload of publicly funded Family costs work.
The Role*Drafting Bills of Costs for complex Family Legal Aid matters.
*Preparing and submitting high-cost case plans and amendments.
*Managing Legal Aid claims and submissions through CCMS.
*Handling inter partes and court-assessed bills.
*Liaising with the Legal Aid Agency, solicitors and counsel.
*Supporting fee earners with costs queries and billing advice.
*Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements and deadlines.
About You*Proven experience as a Family Costs Draftsperson / Costs Draftsman.
*Strong knowledge of Legal Aid billing and CCMS – essential.
*Experience handling high-cost Family cases.
*Understanding of public and private Family law proceedings.
*CostsMaster experience desirable but not essential.
*Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage your own workload.
