About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced procurement professional to join a leading organisation supporting the Higher Education sector as a Category Manager.
This role is responsible for developing and implementing category strategies, leading complex procurement projects, managing framework agreements, and building strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. Working within a collaborative procurement team, you will play a key role in delivering commercial value and supporting strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
*Develop and deliver category management strategies.
*Lead end-to-end procurement and tendering exercises.
*Manage framework agreements throughout their lifecycle.
*Conduct market analysis and provide commercial insights.
*Build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
*Monitor supplier performance, contracts, risks, and compliance.
*Engage with stakeholders to identify procurement opportunities and requirements.
*Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant legislation and governance requirements.
*Deliver savings, efficiencies, and value-for-money outcomes.
About You
*Previous experience in Category Management
*Expertise in sourcing, tendering, and contract management.
*Experience managing supplier relationships and commercial negotiations.
*Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
*Knowledge of UK Public Sector Procurement regulations.
*Knowledge of Frameworks.
*Strong communication and presentation skills.
*Experience working within a public sector, education, NHS, local authority, or similar environment is desirable.
*CIPS/MCIPS qualification (or working towards) is advantageous.
