A respected and growing firm in Manchester is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to strengthen its Business Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking practice with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and entrepreneurial clients across a variety of sectors.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Accountant, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services while working closely with Managers and Partners to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.
*Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
*Producing management accounts and supporting clients with financial reporting.
*Reviewing VAT returns and overseeing bookkeeping assignments.
*Working closely with clients to provide commercial advice and business insights.
*Supporting cloud accounting implementations and process improvements.
*Acting as a primary point of contact for client queries.
*Reviewing and mentoring the work of junior members of the team.
About You
*Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment.
*ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.
*Strong technical accounts preparation and client management experience.
*Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
*Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
*Commercially minded with a proactive approach to client service.
*Ambitious and keen to progress within a growing firm.
