Databricks Engineer / Architect6-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | £450-£600 per dayRemote / Hybrid (UK)Global Consultancy
We’re supporting a global consultancy on the search for an experienced Databricks Engineer / Architect to join a major data transformation programme.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can operate across the full data lifecycle, from designing scalable architectures through to building and optimising data pipelines. The successful contractor will be a true Databricks specialist, capable of combining technical leadership with hands-on engineering delivery.
Key Responsibilities*Design and implement scalable, cloud-based data architectures using Databricks.
*Build and optimise end-to-end data pipelines supporting analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
*Lead the development of modern Lakehouse and data platform solutions.
*Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to define data strategy and architecture.
*Establish best practices across data engineering, governance, performance optimisation and platform design.
*Support data platform modernisation and transformation initiatives.
*Provide technical leadership while remaining heavily involved in hands-on delivery.
Required Experience*Strong commercial experience with Databricks in both engineering and architecture capacities.
*Proven track record designing and building end-to-end data platforms.
*Expertise in data pipeline development, ETL/ELT processes and data integration.
*Strong Python and SQL skills.
*Experience with modern cloud data architectures and Lakehouse methodologies.
*Ability to engage with stakeholders, gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
*Consultancy or client-facing experience is highly desirable.
Contract Details*Contract Length: 6 Months
*Day Rate: £450-£600 per day
