This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or qualified-by-experience accountant to join a purpose-led organisation in a varied finance leadership role. You will take ownership of core financial reporting and statutory obligations whilst supporting key stakeholders across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:
*Ownership of statutory accounts preparation and year-end financial reporting activities.
*Leading the year-end external audit process.
*Supporting internal audit reviews and ensuring recommendations are implemented where required.
*Ensuring robust financial controls, governance, and compliance processes are maintained across the finance function.
*Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
*Monitoring developments in accounting standards and ensuring compliance with relevant reporting requirements.
*Supporting the preparation of technical accounting papers.
*Overseeing regulatory, tax and statutory compliance obligations, working with external advisors.
*Supporting month-end and year-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
*Managing and developing a small finance team.
*Identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, improve processes and enhance reporting efficiencies.
*Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider leadership team on finance projects and business initiatives.

Ideally, you will have:
*ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (QBE candidates with significant relevant experience will also be considered).
*A strong technical accounting background, ideally developed within an audit or practice environment.
*Experience preparing statutory accounts and managing external audit processes.
*Strong financial reporting and compliance experience.
*Previous experience managing or mentoring finance staff.
