Full job descriptionAre you an experienced Accounts Payable professional with strong Excel skills looking for a part-time opportunity? We’re recruiting for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join a busy finance team on a temporary basis, with the potential to transfer to a fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has exceptional attention to detail and is confident managing a varied accounts payable workload.
The Role
*Pay: £21–£23 per hour Umbrella
*Hours: 3 days per week, 7 hours per day
*Working pattern: Hybrid, with 1 day per week on-site
*Location: A short walk from Lambeth North station
*Start date: ASAP
*Contract: Temporary initially, with the potential to transfer to a fixed-term contract
Key Responsibilities
*Process supplier invoices and employee expenses accurately and efficiently.
*Prepare payment runs for staff and volunteers.
*Process supplier payments and issue remittance advice.
*Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
*Monitor the accounts payable inbox and respond to supplier and internal queries.
*Assist with occasional international payments.
*Identify and monitor direct debit payments on a monthly basis.
*Maintain accurate financial records and ensure processes are followed consistently.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
*Previous experience in an accounts payable or purchase ledger position.
*Strong, up-to-date Excel skills, including lookups, sorting, pivot tables and manipulating data.
*Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
*The ability to follow established processes and manage tasks accurately.
*Good communication skills and the confidence to handle supplier and internal queries.
*The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
