Contract: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 7am start, 9.5 hours per day
We’re recruiting two experienced Transport Planners to join an established logistics business in Norwich.
You’ll help keep a busy transport operation running smoothly, planning cost-effective collections and deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service.
Your responsibilities
*Plan daily routes, collections and deliveries.
*Allocate drivers, vehicles and trailers to maximise fleet efficiency.
*Ensure schedules comply with drivers’ hours and Working Time Regulations.
*Use transport management systems and customer portals to manage bookings.
*Communicate with drivers and customers, resolving delays and operational issues.
*Coordinate vehicle availability and maintenance with the workshop.
*Prepare next-day schedules and arrange additional driver cover when required.
What you’ll need
*Previous experience in transport planning or a similar haulage or logistics role.
*Knowledge of drivers’ hours, tachograph rules and Working Time Regulations.
*Experience using transport management systems.
*Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
*Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
*The ability to prioritise workloads in a busy environment.
