Senior IT Engineer (Support & Projects) - MSP
Colchester / Braintree Area | Office-Based | Driving Licence Essential
Up to £35,000 DoE + Benefits
A well-established and growing MSP in North Essex is looking for an experienced, customer-focused Senior IT Engineer to join their Support & Projects team. This is a varied, hands-on role split between 2nd/3rd line support and project delivery, with a pipeline of 15 Intune migrations already lined up and ready to go. It’s a great opportunity for someone who wants to own projects from scoping through to handover, not just assist on them.
What You’ll Be Doing:
*Deliver 2nd/3rd line support to customers via phone, email and portal, with a strong focus on first-touch resolution.
*Own projects end to end, including Intune migrations, Microsoft 365 tenant migrations and customer onboarding.
*Carry out server migrations (server to server and server to cloud), infrastructure upgrades and firewall configuration.
*Deploy and manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Azure environments alongside traditional on-premise servers and networking.
*Share knowledge with the wider team and assist with escalated issues, while maintaining accurate time recording and documentation.
What You’ll Bring:
*Proven experience in a senior support or engineering role within an MSP, supporting multiple customer environments.
*Experience independently delivering technical projects from requirements and planning through to testing and handover.
*Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and Hyper-V, plus solid Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Azure experience.
*Good networking knowledge (firewalls, VPNs, VLANs), with image-based backup/DR and Autotask/Datto experience a bonus.
*A calm, customer-first approach with excellent communication skills.
*Full UK driving licence and own vehicle essential.
*Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA etc) are a plus.
