Full job descriptionAs a Legal Counsel with a January/February start date, you will handle day-to-day legal work that helps the retail sector operate with clear and practical advice. You will work within the Legal department on a 15-month fixed-term contract, helping the organisation manage its legal needs smoothly.

Description
*Provide clear, practical legal advice to colleagues across the business.
*Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements to support business activity.
*Help manage legal queries and provide timely guidance on day-to-day matters.
*Work with internal stakeholders to identify legal considerations within planned activity.
*Maintain accurate legal documents and records to support efficient contract management.
*Support the Legal department with contract reviews and related legal administration.
*Explain legal terms and risks in straightforward language to help colleagues make informed decisions.
*Manage priorities across a range of legal matters during the fixed-term contract.
Profile
A successful Legal Counsel should have:
*Experience providing practical legal advice in a commercial setting.
*Confidence drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
*Ability to manage a varied workload and keep legal matters moving.
*Clear written communication skills for contracts, advice and legal documents.
*Ability to explain legal points in a clear and useful way.
*Strong attention to detail when reviewing legal documentation.
Job Offer
*15-month fixed-term contract.
*Salary of £70,000 to £75,000 dependent on the level of experience.
*10% bonus.
*25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
