Working Arrangement: Fully office-based
We are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of a successful and well-established business. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive individual with strong experience in financial management, including Management Accounts, VAT, and Year-End processes. The successful candidate will report directly to the company’s Directors and oversea one member of staff.


Key Responsibilities:
*Produce monthly Management Accounts, including reconciliation to the costing system
*Reconcile Trial Balance and control accounts (VAT, PAYE, CIS, Wages, Sales & Purchase Ledger)
*Prepare annual budgets and update monthly forecasts
*Monitor and reconcile bank accounts
*Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns
*Reconcile and process PAYE/NIC and CIS tax payments
*Manage weekly and monthly payroll, including statutory returns (FPS, EPS, P60, P11D, etc.)
*Ensure compliance with pension and auto-enrolment legislation
*Oversee credit control and ensure timely payments
*Process subcontractor ledger including applications, certificates, and retentions
*Manage cash book and purchase ledger
*Supervise x1 Accounts Clerk
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or similar role
*Strong working knowledge of accounting software
*Proficiency in Office 365, especially Excel
*Excellent organisational and leadership skills
*Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
*Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
*Knowledge of the construction industry would be an advantage - but not essential.
