Audit and Accounts Director RI – About the Firm
This is a well-established, independent Merseyside firm of accountants with a strong reputation across the region and a growing, close-knit team. Decisions are made by the partners themselves, so you will work directly with the people who own the business. The role exists due to a mix of growth and succession planning, and needs a dedicated, senior RI to lead audit and general practice work, with equity buy-in available for the right candidate.
Audit and Accounts Director RI – Responsibilities
Portfolio leadership
*Lead and sign off audits as Responsible Individual.
*Own a balanced portfolio of audit and general practice clients, around 50/50 billable work.
Client advisory
*Act as trusted adviser to owner-managed and SME clients.
*Review accounts and tax work to a high standard before it goes out.
Leadership & team development
*Supervise, review and develop audit and accounts staff.
Business development and strategy
*Help drive new business and contribute to the firm’s strategic direction as a future partner.
Audit and Accounts Director RI – Requirements
*ACA / ACCA qualified, holding RI status.
*Proven experience leading audits and signing off as an RI.
*Strong general practice background across accounts and compliance.
*Comfortable managing clients and reviewing the work of others.
*Ambition and commercial appetite to buy into the firm’s equity.
