Full Stack Engineer (Java, Angular/React)Location: Glasgow (Hybrid - Minimum 2 Days Onsite Per Week)
Salary: Up to £500 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: Initial 6-Month Contract with a Strong View to Permanent Employment
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join a newly established engineering capability delivering strategic technology solutions within the financial services sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot alongside Angular and/or React. You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering secure, scalable, enterprise-grade applications while contributing to engineering standards and best practices across multiple high-profile projects.
Key Responsibilities*Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular or React.
*Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions.
*Collaborate with developers, architects, DevOps engineers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software.
*Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
*Participate in architecture discussions, technical design sessions, and code reviews.
*Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps initiatives, and Agile delivery practices.
*Ensure solutions meet security, performance, accessibility, and operational requirements.
*Work closely with stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
Required Skills & Experience*Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot.
*Front-end development expertise using Angular and/or React.
*Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.
*Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
*Experience working within financial services, banking, insurance, or other regulated environments.
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
*Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
Desirable Skills*Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Jest, or Cypress.
*Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform or Ansible.
*Knowledge of monitoring, observability, and performance optimisation.
*Previous consulting experience.
*Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to engineering best practices.
