Full job descriptionReed Finance are currently assisting a long established client in the local area who are seeking a European Indirect Tax Manager to join their team on an initial temporary basis. This role will lead European VAT, Intrastat, customs compliance and regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions. This is a specialist role with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and international operations.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage VAT, Intrastat, and statutory reporting across the UK and Europe (including FR, DE, IT, NL, BE, IE, AT, CH).
*Review and approve VAT and Intrastat returns, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
*Act as the key contact for tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors.
*Support tax audits, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance activities.
*Drive improvements in customs processes, documentation, and record keeping.
*Lead process improvement and automation initiatives, including SAP, Making Tax Digital, and e-invoicing projects.
*Provide indirect tax expertise and business partnering support across Finance and Operations teams.
Requirements
*Professional accounting or tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA, CIMA or equivalent).
*Strong European VAT and Intrastat experience (essential).
*Proven background within indirect tax and compliance.
*Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
*Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across different countries.
