Are you an experienced Family Solicitor looking for a genuine leadership role, but without the expectation of having to build a department from scratch?

This is a senior opportunity to join an established and highly regarded Family team in the Dudley / West Birmingham area, taking responsibility for leading an existing team of lawyers while continuing to handle high-quality private family work.

The Firm

A well-established regional law firm with a strong reputation across the West Midlands and a substantial presence across both private client and commercial practice areas.

The Family department is recognised by the Legal 500 and has developed a particularly strong reputation across divorce, matrimonial finance and private Children Act work.

Importantly, this is already a sizeable and successful Family practice. The wider department includes three Partners alongside five other Solicitors, providing the incoming Partner with an established platform, existing expertise and a strong team around them.

The Role

You will join as a Family Partner and take the lead for an established part of the firm’s Family practice in the Dudley / West Birmingham area.

This is a genuine leadership position combining your own high-quality private family work with responsibility for the lawyers around you.

Your role will include:

*Leading, supervising and developing an established Family team


*Managing your own caseload of complex private family matters


*Divorce and separation


*Complex financial remedy work


*Private Children Act matters


*Supporting junior and mid-level lawyers with technically challenging cases


*Developing existing client and professional referrer relationships


*Playing an active role in the continued growth and direction of the Family practice


There is already an established team and flow of work, so this is not simply a following-dependent Partner appointment or a blank-sheet business development exercise.

You

You will be an experienced Family Solicitor operating at Partner level, or potentially a strong Senior Associate who is genuinely ready to make that step.

You’ll need substantial experience in private family law, particularly divorce, matrimonial finance and private children matters, alongside the credibility and technical ability to supervise and develop other lawyers.

Previous management or supervisory experience would be particularly valuable.

You’ll also be commercially minded and comfortable developing relationships with clients, referrers and the wider professional community.
