NeneBrook Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing construction business based in Birmingham in the recruitment of an Assistant Accountant on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to join a friendly and supportive finance team within a fast-paced business, gaining exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities while enjoying the flexibility of hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities*Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
*Bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
*Accruals and prepayments
*Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
*Processing journals and maintaining the general ledger
*Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures
*VAT returns and statutory reporting support
*Providing financial analysis and reporting to management
*Supporting transactional finance when required
About You*Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant or similar accounting role
*AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA (desirable)
*Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Experience within construction, engineering or project-based environments would be advantageous
