Full job descriptionA London-based construction consultancy is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing cost management team. The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will gain exposure to a varied portfolio of building and property projects across the capital.
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor’s Role
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and project professionals, supporting commissions from early feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account.
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will assist with cost plans, tender documentation, valuations, variations and commercial reporting while gaining regular exposure to clients, consultants and contractors. As experience develops, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be encouraged to take greater ownership of smaller packages and project responsibilities.
This opportunity would suit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with some UK consultancy experience who wants to broaden their technical knowledge, strengthen their client-facing skills and progress towards Project Quantity Surveyor level.
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor
*Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline

*Previous experience within a UK PQS or construction consultancy

*Good understanding of pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying duties

*Exposure to cost planning, tendering, valuations and change control

*Familiarity with JCT contracts and UK procurement routes

*Working towards MRICS chartership or keen to begin the APC process

*Strong numerical, organisational and communication skills

*Confident working with clients, consultants and contractors

*Professional, team focused and keen to take on increasing responsibility

*Ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking for long-term career progression

*£35,000 - £45,000 per annum
