Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a leading manufacturer of bespoke packaging machinery to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team in Gainsborough.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business, working on innovative machinery projects from initial concept through to manufacture.
Key Responsibilities:
*Design and develop bespoke packaging machinery, mechanical assemblies and components using Autodesk Inventor
*Produce detailed 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
*Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manage design changes
*Collaborate with production, purchasing, electrical and service teams to ensure successful project delivery
*Ensure designs meet relevant safety, hygiene and CE/UKCA compliance standards
*Support design reviews, machinery testing and continuous improvements, applying Design for Manufacture principles
*Provide technical support for customer-specific engineering projects and machinery modifications
Skills & Experience:
*Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical design, ideally within bespoke machinery or special-purpose equipment
*Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, including 3D modelling and 2D drafting
*Previous experience within packaging machinery or the food manufacturing industry would be advantageous
*Good knowledge of pneumatics, motors, drives and stainless steel fabrication
*Understanding of Design for Manufacture principles and CE/UKCA compliance requirements
*Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively across departments
*HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
