Dover, Kent | Up to £50,000 Pro Rata | 6-Month Contract
Reed Accountancy & Finance are currently supporting a well-established international manufacturing business in Dover in their search for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the finance team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant with a practice-trained background, experience of SAP, and a solid understanding of SOC compliance and financial controls. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in statutory reporting, balance sheet integrity, audit support, and ensuring compliance within a complex multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting reconciliations.
*Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
*Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments.
*Review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigating variances and resolving issues.
*Support group reporting and statutory accounts preparation under UK GAAP / FRS102.
*Assist with external and internal audits, ensuring adherence to financial controls.
*Support VAT returns and other regulatory submissions.
*Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of SOC compliance frameworks and internal controls.
*Work closely with operational and finance stakeholders across the business to improve reporting processes and controls.
*Utilise SAP to manage financial transactions, reporting, and data integrity.
Candidate Profile
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
*Previous training and experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.
*Strong understanding of statutory reporting and technical accounting.
*Proven experience working with SAP.
*Knowledge of SOC compliance, internal controls, and audit requirements.
*Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting experience.
*Advanced Excel skills with excellent analytical abilities.
*Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
*Proactive approach with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
