Full job descriptionWe are working with an established business in Middlesbrough who are looking to strengthen their finance team with the appointment of an experienced Finance Coordinator.
This is a varied opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to take ownership across transactional finance, month-end accounting, management accounts and cash flow. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play an important role in supporting the financial operations of two group companies.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage sales and purchase ledger functions across two companies
*Process and reconcile invoices, credit notes and payments
*Raise customer invoices and monitor debt collection
*Maintain fixed asset registers and prepare accrual and prepayment schedules
*Assist with WIP reporting and reconciliations
*Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
*Produce overhead cost and variance reports
*Monitor and report on cash flow
*Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
*Support month-end and year-end processes
*Provide financial information and analysis to support decision-making
*Liaise with operational teams and support external auditors and accountants
*Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a finance or accounting role, with a sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
You will ideally have experience with:
*Previous experience in a finance or accounting role covering transactional and month-end accounting
*Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
*Experience with sales ledger, purchase ledger, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
*Understanding of management accounts and cash flow management
*Competent user of Microsoft Excel and financial accounting systems
*Strong attention to detail and ability to manage your own workload
*WIP accounting and reporting experience would be advantageous
*AAT qualified or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification would be advantageous, although suitably experienced candidates will be considered
What’s on Offer?
*£30,000–£35,000 salary, depending on experience
*Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
*24 days holiday + bank holidays
