If you like being the person who knows exactly what’s going on in the day to day numbers, keeps customers paying and makes sure the finance function runs properly behind the scenes, this could be a good one.
This is a varied accounts role, but with a clear focus on credit control. Around 80% of your time will be spent managing the sales ledger, chasing outstanding payments, resolving queries and making sure cash keeps moving.
The other 20% is where the variety comes in:
*10% payroll – processing the weekly/monthly payroll and making sure everything is accurate and on time
*10% purchase ledger – keeping invoices moving, matching payments and dealing with supplier queries
You won’t be responsible for producing the management accounts – there’s an Assistant Management Accountant and an FD already looking after that side of things. What they need is someone who can take control of the transactional finance function.
