Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are partnering with a large and growing Yorkshire-based business to appoint an experienced Interim Group Financial Controller on an initial 6-month contract. This is a hands-on leadership role, providing stability and oversight within a fast-paced environment.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will take ownership of the group’s finance function, whilst supporting a business with significant activity and ongoing change.

Given the urgent nature of this requirement, we are keen to speak with experienced interim finance contractors who can quickly establish credibility, provide stability, and make an immediate impact. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a proven track record operating as a Financial Controller or Group Financial Controller within large, complex organisations.

You will have experience working in high-growth, acquisitive, or rapidly evolving businesses and be comfortable leading sizeable finance teams while maintaining robust financial controls and reporting standards. Exposure to private equity-backed environments would be highly advantageous, particularly within businesses that have been through periods of transformation, growth, or M&A activity. Above all, we are looking for someone who is organised, diligent and calm under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and build strong relationships across the business. Immediate availability or the ability to start at short notice is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities include:

*Lead and develop six direct reports, covering Transactional, Financial Accounts and Management Accounts.
*Oversee all aspects of financial control, reporting and compliance across the group.
*Ensure strong financial governance, controls and balance sheet integrity.
*Support business-critical projects and ongoing growth initiatives.
*Partner with senior stakeholders across the organisation, providing insight and challenge where required.
*Maintain a high-performing finance function during a period of significant activity and change.

Based in Yorkshire, you will be required to travel to the office 3 days per week. The role will be Inside IR35 and be paying £600-£800 per day.
