Full job descriptionAs a Finance Assistant, you will support the day-to-day finance function, assisting with transactional finance duties, reconciliations, month-end processes and finance administration.

Description
*Process purchase invoices, payments and employee expenses.
*Maintain purchase and sales ledgers.
*Reconcile bank accounts and supplier statements.
*Support credit control activities and chase outstanding debt.
*Assist with month-end procedures including journals and reconciliations.
*Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
*Respond to internal and external finance queries.
*Process and update information within Xero and other finance systems.
*Support finance process improvement initiatives.
*Assist with transactional finance work arising from business acquisitions.
*Work closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team.
*Ensure accuracy and attention to detail across all finance activities.
Profile
A successful ’Finance Assistant’ should have:


*Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant position.
*Strong purchase ledger and sales ledger experience.
*Experience completing bank and supplier reconciliations.
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
*Experience using finance software, ideally Xero.
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
*The ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
*Excellent communication skills.
*A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider team.
*Immediate availability or a short notice period.
