Tailored Search is delighted to be partnering with a growing and established specialist services business in the search for a Credit Controller to join its finance team.
With a large and expanding customer base, this is a newly created position that offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting cash flow, reducing aged debt, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The role would suit an experienced credit professional who enjoys taking ownership of their ledger and working as part of a collaborative finance team.
The RoleReporting into the finance team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts and ensuring outstanding debt is collected effectively and professionally.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing an allocated sales ledger and proactively collecting outstanding debts in line with company targets.
*Conducting collection activity via telephone, email, and customer portal systems.
*Monitoring aged debt reports and ensuring overdue balances are actively managed.
*Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries in a timely manner.
*Participating in regular debtor review meetings and providing updates on collection activity.
*Managing customer portal invoicing and approval processes.
*Identifying potential bad debt risks and escalating concerns where appropriate.
*Liaising with legal advisors and external debt collection agencies when required.
*Building positive working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
The CandidateWe are looking for a confident and proactive Credit Controller with a strong track record of debt recovery and customer account management.
You will ideally have:
*Previous B2B credit control experience.
*Proven success in aged debt recovery and cash collection.
*Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
*Experience dealing with a diverse customer base, including larger corporate organisations.
*Good attention to detail and the ability to investigate and resolve account queries.
*Strong Excel, systems, and account reconciliation skills.
*A proactive and organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Desirable Experience*Experience using customer invoicing, billing, or payment portals.
*Experience within a service-led organisation.
*Exposure to blue-chip or large corporate customers.
*Experience using ERP or accounting systems.
