Not For Profit People are delighted to be recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Registered Manager to lead the development and opening of a brand-new children’s residential home in Milton Keynes.
This new two-bed home will provide a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for children aged 8-16 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the service from the very beginning, leading the process, developing the culture of the home and building a high-performing team dedicated to achieving outstanding outcomes for young people.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join an organisation at an exciting stage of growth. The home is scheduled to open in early 2027, giving the successful candidate the chance to influence every aspect of the service before welcoming its first young people.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will:
*Support the home opening
*Develop and implement high-quality care practices in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
*Develop and inspire a skilled and compassionate staff team
*Oversee safeguarding, care planning and risk management
*Ensure children and young people remain at the heart of all decision-making
*Drive quality assurance, continuous improvement and positive outcomes for residents
*Build strong relationships with professionals, families and external agencies
About You
We are keen to hear from:
*Experienced Registered Managers currently working within children’s residential care; or
*Ambitious Deputy Managers who have the skills, experience and motivation to take the next step into their first Registered Manager position.
You will have:
*Experience within children’s and/or residential care
*A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Quality Standards
*Excellent leadership and people management skills
*A passion for improving the lives of children and young people
*Relevant management qualifications or a commitment to achieve them
Experience of opening a new children’s home would be advantageous but is not essential.
What’s on Offer
*Salary of £50,000 per annum
*Opportunity to lead a brand-new service from inception
*Significant autonomy and influence in shaping the home’s culture and success
*Supportive and engaged senior leadership team
*Genuine career development opportunities
Future Progression
This organisation has ambitious growth plans, with a further children’s home planned to join the group later in 2027. As the organisation expands, there will be real opportunities for the successful candidate to develop their career, broaden their responsibilities and potentially take on wider leadership duties in the future.

If you are passionate about creating safe, stable and nurturing environments where children can thrive, we’d love to hear from you.
Interviews are being arranged now, with the successful candidate joining ahead of the planned opening in early 2027.
