You will set direction for legal matters and ensure the organisation has practical oversight of its compliance needs.

Description
*Lead the day-to-day work of the Legal department and set clear priorities for legal and compliance activity.
*Provide practical legal guidance to help colleagues make informed business decisions.
*Oversee compliance activity and maintain clear processes across the organisation.
*Review legal matters affecting operations and identify appropriate actions.
*Develop legal policies and guidance that support consistent ways of working.
*Work with internal stakeholders to resolve legal and compliance queries efficiently.
*Monitor key legal and compliance matters, providing clear updates to senior stakeholders.
*Manage external legal advisers when specialist input is required.
Profile
The successful ’Head Of Legal & Compliance’ should have:
*Experience in commercial contracts, either contentious or non contentious.
*Strong knowledge of legal and compliance principles relevant to business operations.
*Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice to a range of stakeholders.
*Experience developing and maintaining legal policies and guidance.
*Ability to assess legal matters and recommend proportionate actions.
*Experience working with external legal advisers.
