Job Description:
Full job descriptionAs a Financial Accountant in Purfleet, you will manage core accounting work for a business in the Leisure, Travel & Tourism industry, helping to keep financial information accurate and up to date. You will work within the Accounting & Finance department and provide clear financial records that support day-to-day business decisions.
Client Details
The organisation operates in the Leisure, Travel & Tourism industry and is based in Purfleet.
Description
*Prepare accurate financial records to support the day-to-day running of the Accounting & Finance department.
*Maintain general ledger information and ensure entries are recorded clearly and on time.
*Complete account reconciliations and investigate any differences to keep balances accurate.
*Support the preparation of monthly financial reports for internal use.
*Review financial data and resolve routine queries to improve the quality of reporting.
*Keep supporting documents organised and available for financial review.
*Work with colleagues across the business to gather information needed for accounting tasks.
Profile
A successful ’Financial Accountant’ should have:
Strong technical consolidation experience is essential and was a key gap identified in previous candidates.
Candidate should have hands-on experience with group consolidations, rather than purely financial accounting responsibilities.
Must be able to confidently discuss the consolidation process in detail, including:
*What entities they consolidated.
*The size and complexity of those entities.
*Their specific involvement in the consolidation process.
*Technical challenges encountered and how they were resolved.
Experience with lease accounting is highly desirable, with the ability to practically apply accounting standards rather than just having theoretical knowledge.
Looking for candidates who can demonstrate a genuine technical accounting background, not simply routine reconciliations or month-end activities.
Particular interest in candidates with experience of:
*Acquisitions and business combinations.
*Consolidating newly acquired entities into a group structure.
*Intercompany eliminations and associated adjustment journals.
*Managing transactions where one group entity trades with another.
Client wants candidates who will gain credibility quickly and demonstrate strong technical expertise during interviews.
*Experience producing accurate financial records and maintaining general ledger entries.
*Strong ability to complete reconciliations and investigate variances.
*Experience preparing financial information for monthly reporting.
*Good attention to detail when reviewing financial data and supporting documents.
*Ability to manage accounting tasks in an organised and timely way.
*Clear communication skills when working with colleagues on financial queries.
Job Offer
*Permanent Financial Accountant position based in Purfleet.
*Salary of £55,000 to £60,000 dependent on the level of experience.
