Why Greencore?
Following the combination with Bakkavor in January 2026, we’re one of the UK’s leading creators of convenience food, driven by a simple purpose: to make every day taste better.
As a vibrant and fast-moving business, we’re proud to employ over 28,000 talented colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots in the UK and the US.
Together, we bring delicious food to life. Our products cover every meal occasion, from breakfast through to dinner and dessert, with lunch and snacking in between.
In FY25, our shared passion helped us achieve combined revenues of approximately £4bn. Our extensive direct-to-store (DTS) network, with 17 depots across the UK, allows us to deliver fresh and frozen food, both our own and from trusted partners, to thousands of stores every day.
Here at Greencore Wisbech, we have a team of 525 colleagues and manufacture premium chilled ready-to-cook meals for major retailers such as Sainsbury’s, Aldi and Co-op.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Quality Assurance (QA) Intake Operative, you will play an essential role in ensuring that all raw materials, ingredients and packaging arriving on site meet our strict food safety, quality and customer standards before being accepted into the manufacturing process.
Working closely with our Intake, Warehouse, Production and Technical teams, you will be responsible for completing incoming goods inspections, carrying out quality checks and ensuring all products meet the required specifications.
Your responsibilities will include:

*Completing temperature checks on incoming chilled and frozen goods, ensuring products are received within the required limits.

*Checking product labelling, use-by dates, batch codes and traceability information to ensure accuracy and compliance.

*Reviewing incoming deliveries against relevant product specifications and identifying any discrepancies.

*Completing accurate intake inspection records, quality documentation and system updates.

*Identifying, reporting and escalating any non-conforming or damaged raw materials and packaging to the appropriate teams.

*Supporting the management of rejected or quarantined stock, ensuring products are appropriately identified and controlled.

*Working closely with Warehouse, Intake, Production, Technical and Supply Chain teams to investigate and resolve quality concerns.

*Carrying out product sampling and quality assessments when required.

*Monitoring and maintaining high standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), hygiene and food safety within intake and storage areas.

What we’re looking for:
To be successful in this role, we’re looking for someone who:
*Ideally has previous experience within a food manufacturing, warehouse intake, Quality Assurance or Technical environment.

*Has a good understanding of food safety, quality standards and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

*Has excellent attention to detail and can identify when incoming materials do not meet the required standards.

*Is confident completing quality checks, inspections, paperwork and accurate records.

*Understands the importance of temperature control, product traceability and allergen management.

*Is comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, including chilled areas.

*Has good communication skills and is confident raising concerns when quality or food safety standards are not met.

*Can work effectively with Intake, Warehouse, Production, Technical and other departments.

What you’ll get in return:
*Competitive salary and job-related benefits

*Holidays

*Competitive matched pension contributions

*Life insurance up to 4x salary

*Company share save scheme

*Greencore Qualifications
