Your next step in domestic abuse servicesAre you an experienced domestic abuse professional who has spent years supporting survivors and is ready to take the next step in your career?
Perhaps you’ve built up extensive experience working directly with women affected by domestic violence, supported survivors through complex situations, and developed a strong understanding of safeguarding, risk and trauma informed practice. Now, you’re looking for an opportunity to use that experience in a more senior leadership role.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a Head of Service position where your specialist domestic abuse knowledge is just as important as your leadership ability.
You don’t necessarily need years of senior management experience. We’re particularly interested in professionals with a strong background in domestic abuse who are ready to progress, develop their leadership skills and make a wider impact across specialist services.
What will you be doing?*Providing leadership and guidance across specialist domestic abuse services.
*Supporting and overseeing a team of approximately 14 managers.
*Ensuring women and children receive safe, high quality, survivor centred support.
*Working closely with commissioners and external partners to develop and maintain effective services.
*Overseeing safeguarding arrangements for adults and children.
*Supporting managers with complex cases, risk management and service delivery.
*Promoting best practice, staff development and continuous improvement.
*Helping shape services to ensure they meet the needs of survivors and their families.
What we’re looking forWe’re keen to speak with candidates who have:
*Strong, hands on experience within domestic abuse services.
*Experience supporting survivors of domestic violence and understanding the challenges they face.
*A solid understanding of safeguarding adults and children, risk assessment and trauma-informed practice.
*Experience working alongside commissioners and multi-agency partners.
*The confidence and ability to guide, motivate and support others.
Previous management experience would be beneficial, but we’re not looking for a management CV alone. Your domestic abuse knowledge, experience supporting survivors and potential to step into leadership are what matter most.
If you’re currently working as a Senior Domestic Abuse Practitioner, IDVA, Service Coordinator, Senior Caseworker or in a similar specialist role and feel ready for that next step, this could be an excellent opportunity.
Why consider this opportunity?*Progress your career: Move towards senior leadership without needing an extensive background in management.
*Use your specialist knowledge: Put your domestic abuse experience at the heart of service development and decision-making.
*Make a wider impact: Help shape the quality of support delivered to women and children across multiple services.
*Hybrid flexibility: Work from home up to two days per week, with flexibility to discuss arrangements.
*Longer-term opportunity: Start on a six-month fixed-term contract, and then to move into a permanent position.
Interested in taking that next step?If you have extensive domestic abuse experience and are ready to explore a role with greater responsibility, we’d love to hear from you!
