Job Description:
Full job descriptionSenior Business Development Manager - Corporate Travel - London
An established global travel management company is building a new UK sales function, and this is a senior hire at the heart of it. They are looking for an experienced business travel sales professional who can bring in significant new accounts, help shape how the team goes to market, and grow with the business as it expands. You will work directly with the Managing Director, with real influence from day one and a clear path to progress as the team grows.
Senior Business Development Manager - Who will I be working for?
Founded over 30 years ago, the business is still privately owned and led by its founder. It has its own offices across the globe, a global head office in London, and a client base weighted towards the legal, professional services and energy sectors. Its client technology is being expanded with a significant new launch, but its reputation has been built on the quality of its service.
Senior Business Development Manager - What will I be doing?
You will carry a significant new business target for the UK, with a focus on professional services, and lead opportunities ranging from UK mid-market accounts through to global, multi-region travel programmes.
* Developing relationships with senior stakeholders across travel, procurement, finance and the C-suite
* Shaping the commercial approach for each opportunity and leading it through to contract
* Leading tender responses and commercial proposals, supported by an in-house bid and design team
* Presenting at senior level and negotiating pricing and contract terms
* Delivering against annual and quarterly new business performance targets
* Maintaining a disciplined pipeline in CRM, and feeding market and competitor insight back into the business
* Managing a smooth transition into implementation and account management
SDRs provide qualified meetings, and the autonomy is yours to decide how you approach your market.
Senior Business Development Manager - What experience do I need?
* A proven new business track record in business travel
* Experience winning large, multi-stakeholder corporate travel contracts
* A strategic, structured approach to building and managing pipeline
* The ambition to help build a UK sales function, not just join one
* Equally effective on UK mid-market deals and global programmes
* Highly organised, data-led and accountable for your numbers
Senior Business Development Manager - What else do I need to know?
This is a permanent, full-time role based in the London office, working hybrid with three set office days a week (four during onboarding).
The basic salary is very good, plus uncapped commission. Benefits include healthcare. There really is huge scope for someone to earn very well and develop their career here.
