Full job description
Investment Banking Associate, Industrials M&A
London | Associate Level
A leading global investment bank is looking to add an Associate to its Industrials M&A team in London, offering the opportunity to work on high-profile, complex transactions across the European Industrials landscape.
The team operates with a pure advisory mindset, working closely with senior bankers and clients on strategic M&A situations. The successful candidate will join a lean deal team with significant exposure to senior decision-makers and the opportunity to take meaningful responsibility throughout the transaction lifecycle.
The Role
As an Associate, you will play a key role in the execution and origination of M&A transactions, with responsibilities including:
*Leading financial analysis, valuation, modelling and transaction materials across live M&A mandates
*Managing significant elements of execution processes, including financial modelling, due diligence, process management and coordination with advisers
*Preparing and reviewing valuation analyses including DCF, precedent transactions, trading comparables and other relevant methodologies
*Developing client presentations, strategic materials, investment committee materials and transaction documentation
*Working directly with senior bankers and clients across the European Industrials sector
*Supporting and mentoring Analysts while taking increasing ownership of deal execution
*Contributing to the team’s origination efforts through company analysis, sector research and identification of potential strategic opportunities
Candidate Profile
We are specifically looking for candidates with:
*Current experience within Investment Banking M&A, ideally from a recognised global, independent or high-quality advisory platform
*Approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant investment banking experience, with flexibility depending on current title and transaction exposure
*Relevant Industrials sector experience, with demonstrable exposure to transactions and companies across the sector
*Strong experience executing sell-side and/or buy-side M&A transactions
*Excellent technical ability, particularly across financial modelling, valuation and transaction analysis
*Strong understanding of the end-to-end M&A process and the ability to take ownership of workstreams on live transactions
*Experience reviewing and guiding Analyst-level work
*Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to interact directly with senior bankers and clients
*A strong academic background
Why Consider the Opportunity?
This is an attractive opportunity for an Associate looking to join a high-quality advisory platform with a strong reputation for complex and strategic M&A.
The role offers a combination of significant transaction exposure, lean deal teams, senior banker interaction and accelerated responsibility. Rather than operating within a heavily layered team structure, Associates are expected to play a central role in execution and develop quickly toward senior-level client responsibility.
Candidates coming from Investment Banking M&A with Industrials experience and particularly strong technical capabilities will be most relevant.
