Monday - Friday double days 6am-2pm 2pm-10pm

Your new role:
We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Sliding Head Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business.This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist with experience of sliding head lathes who is comfortable setting, operating and ideally programming CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
*Setting and operating CNC sliding head lathes
*Programming and editing CNC machines where required
*Producing precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
*Selecting and setting appropriate tooling
*Carrying out tool changes, offsets and machine adjustments
*Using measuring equipment including micrometres, verniers and gauges

This is just a summed-up list, and other duties will be required.

Skills & Experience required:
*Previous experience working as a CNC Sliding Head Machinist, Setter, Operator or Programmer
*Experience with sliding head CNC machinery such as Citizen, Star, Tornos or similar
*Strong CNC turning knowledge
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
*Experience setting tooling and making machine adjustments
*Good understanding of tolerances and inspection procedures
