Hays Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an established SME business who are looking to appoint an experienced Accountant to their finance team.This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business in a broad and varied accounting role, where you will have visibility across the finance function and work closely with key stakeholders across the organisation.

Your new role
As Accountant, you will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of accounting duties, including:
*Preparation of monthly management accounts
*Month-end reporting, including accruals and prepayments
*Balance sheet reconciliations
*Cashflow reporting and forecasting
*Budgeting and forecasting
*VAT returns
*Supporting year-end accounts
*Liaising with external accountants and auditors as required
*Monitoring costs and providing financial analysis
*Maintaining accurate financial records and strong financial controls
*Supporting improvements to accounting processes and systems
*Providing financial information to support business decision-making
*Assisting across the wider finance function when required
As part of an SME environment, this will be a hands-on position offering plenty of variety and the opportunity to become involved in the wider commercial activities of the business.What you’ll need to

You will have previous experience working within an accounting role and will be comfortable taking ownership of month-end and management accounting responsibilities.You may be qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience, with applications welcomed from candidates with an ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT background, alongside experienced QBE accountants.You will possess strong Excel skills, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to communicate financial information to colleagues outside of finance.Most importantly, you will enjoy working within an SME environment, where being adaptable, commercially aware and willing to get involved across the finance function is key.
