A great opportunity has arisen with a long-standing client of mine, a well-established and highly respected Accountancy Practice based in Blackpool, with excellent access to the M55.
They are looking to appoint an experienced Bookkeeper with Accountancy Practice experience to join their growing team.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a variety of clients and wants to build on their existing bookkeeping experience within a supportive practice environment, with genuine opportunities to develop their technical skills and progress their career.
The roleWorking with a varied portfolio of clients, you will take responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting clients with their day-to-day accounting requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.
*Processing sales and purchase invoices, payments, receipts and journals.
*Completing bank and control account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
*Preparing and submitting VAT returns, ensuring transactions are accurately coded and VAT treatment is correct.
*Managing purchase and sales ledger records and completing supplier statement reconciliations.
*Preparing accruals, prepayments and other journals where required.
*Producing management accounts and financial reports for clients.
*Assisting with year-end accounts preparation, including schedules and supporting working papers.
*Supporting clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements and maintaining accurate accounting records.
*Building strong relationships with clients, responding to queries and providing practical bookkeeping support.
What they’re looking forWe’re particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have previous Bookkeeping experience within an Accountancy Practice and are comfortable managing multiple clients and deadlines.
You will ideally have:
*Solid practical bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice.
*Experience preparing VAT returns.
*Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and reconciliations.
*Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero or QuickBooks.
*Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
*Good communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with clients.
*The ambition to continue developing your accounting knowledge and career.
