J&J Search is partnering with a growing and ambitious UK Wealth Management group to recruit an experienced Enterprise Data Manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering its enterprise-wide data strategy.
This is a rare opportunity for a technically accomplished data professional to take genuine ownership of a developing data capability, combining enterprise data architecture, governance, Microsoft Fabric/Azure and hands-on data engineering.
Rather than simply maintaining an established data environment, you’ll have the opportunity to define the roadmap, establish the architecture and lead the technical build of the Group’s data warehouse and associated data pipelines.
Working closely with the IT Director and senior business stakeholders, you’ll help create a modern, scalable and well-governed data environment supporting multiple businesses across Wealth Management, Investment Platforms and Financial Advice.
The Role
As Enterprise Data Manager, your responsibilities will include:
*Defining and delivering the Group’s enterprise data strategy and multi-year roadmap.
*Designing and owning the enterprise data architecture, including data models, integration patterns and platform standards.
*Leading the development of a modern enterprise data warehouse, data lake and associated data pipelines.
*Driving the adoption and optimisation of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake or equivalent modern cloud data technologies.
*Taking a hands-on role in data engineering, ingestion, transformation and modelling.
*Establishing and embedding data governance frameworks, including data quality, lineage, metadata and stewardship.
*Ensuring data integrity, security, accessibility and compliance across multiple group businesses.
*Working with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for improved reporting, analytics and data-driven decision-making.
*Supporting the development of a consistent, scalable and commercially valuable enterprise data capability.
*Collaborating with technology, operations, information security and business leadership to deliver strategic data initiatives.
About You
We’re keen to hear from experienced Enterprise Data Managers, Data Architects, Data Platform Managers and senior Data Engineering professionals who can demonstrate a combination of strategic thinking and hands-on technical expertise.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
*Proven experience defining and implementing enterprise data strategies and roadmaps.
*Experience working with Wealth Management, Investment Platforms or Investment Management systems and data.
*Strong knowledge of enterprise data architecture, modelling and governance frameworks.
*Hands-on experience designing and building data warehouses, data lakes and scalable data pipelines.
*Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory or comparable modern cloud data platforms.
*Strong understanding of data quality, lineage, metadata management and data governance.
*The ability to translate complex business requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.
*Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage senior business and technology leaders.
*A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to establish new processes, standards and capabilities.
Experience working within a multi-company group structure or a developing IT function would be advantageous.
Importantly, this is not a purely strategic or governance-focused position. We’re looking for someone who is equally comfortable defining the data roadmap and taking ownership of the technical delivery required to make it happen.
