Location: Grantham
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Parts Controller on behalf of one of our clients.
The successful candidate will assist the Service Controller as part of a team, in sourcing and managing required parts for Bennie in Material handling equipment.
Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel however, all candidates will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Coordinate the ordering, receiving and distribution of forklift spare parts.
*Identify and source parts for different forklift makes and models.
*Process parts enquiries from customers, service engineers and internal teams.
*Prepare quotations and process sales orders and purchase orders
*Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular stock checks.
*Monitor stock levels and place replenishment orders when required.
*Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and parts distributors regarding availability, pricing and delivery times.
*Arrange urgent parts deliveries to engineers and customers.
*Track backorders and keep customers and engineers updated.
*Manage returns, warranty parts and incorrect/damaged deliveries.
*Update parts and stock information on Protean, the company’s computer system.
*Help maintain an organised and efficient parts warehouse.
*Work closely with the service and workshop teams to minimise forklift downtime.
*Ensure invoices, delivery notes and purchase documentation are accurate.
*Provide excellent customer service and resolve parts-related queries.
Skills and Qualifications:
*Previous experience in forklift, plant, automotive, agricultural or industrial parts is advantageous.
*Ability to work independently as well as part of a service/parts team.
*Good negotiation and supplier-management skills.
*Ability to work under pressure and prioritise urgent requirements.
*Strong organisation and attention to detail.
*Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and stock/ERP systems.
*Strong communication and customer-service skills.
*Good knowledge of spare parts and part-number identification.
*Full UK driving licence may be required depending on the role
