Our work directly impacts the training of medical professionals and, ultimately, patient care.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Calibration Technician to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career in a specialized, high-tech industry, working directly alongside an experienced Calibration Engineer at one of our most prestigious customer sites.
The Opportunity: Why Join Us?
If you have a passion for electronics / electrical systems, hands-on technical work, and problem-solving, this role is your launchpad.
Based permanently on-site with a key customer in Leeds, you will gain hands-on experience calibrating and maintaining cutting-edge medical simulators and test equipment. You won’t just be working behind a bench; you will be the face of Prosim, collaborating closely with the customer’s laboratory, engineering, and quality teams to keep their operations running safely and compliantly.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities):
Learn & Calibrate: Carry out precision calibration, testing, and inspection of electrical, electronic, and test & measurement equipment under the guidance of a senior engineer.
Uphold Quality Standards: Ensure all calibration activities strictly adhere to international quality standards, including ISO 9001, as well as customer-specific compliance procedures.
Problem Solve: Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, adjustments, and modifications to ensure all equipment meets strict ISO standards and customer specifications.
Be the Expert on Site: Utilize specialized calibration standards, test equipment, and software to complete technical work to the highest standards.
Document Success: Produce accurate calibration results, reports, and certificates, ensuring all technical records, manuals, and specifications are meticulously maintained in line with ISO audit requirements.
Collaborate: Act as a key point of contact for the customer on-site, responding to queries, system requests, and approvals with professionalism and efficiency.
Grow Your Skills: Proactively maintain and develop your technical competence, keeping up-to-date with industry standards, ISO regulations, and training.
What We Are Looking For (Key Requirements):
Technical Foundation: A qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (e.g., BTEC, ONC, HNC, or a completed apprenticeship).
Hands-on Mindset: Some prior experience in calibration, testing, electronics, electrical engineering, or a hands-on technical environment is highly desirable.
Standards Awareness: A basic understanding of, or exposure to, quality management systems and standards (such as ISO 17025 or ISO 9001) is a distinct advantage.
Analytical Thinker: Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Great Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to represent Prosim professionally in front of customers.
IT Literate: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook).
Academic Basics: GCSE Maths and English at Grade 5 (C) or above (or equivalent).
Right to Work: Must be eligible to work in the UK without requiring current or future visa sponsorship.
What We Offer:
Competitive Salary: A salary of £27,000 - £30,000
Structured Mentorship: Direct, daily learning from an experienced Calibration Engineer.
Dynamic Work Environment: A perfect blend of hands-on technical work and customer interaction.
Innovative Culture: Work with a supportive, forward-thinking team at the forefront of the industrial digital revolution.
