About the Role
This is a rare, high-impact leadership opportunity at a pivotal moment for our Scottish operations. We are looking for an experienced insurance leader to manage the unification of two legacy departments—Private Clients and Rural—into one cohesive Regional Private Client proposition for Scotland.
In this role, you will lead the sharing of technical expertise across both groups while ensuring alignment with best-practice processes across the wider UK Private Client and Rural division. Reporting directly to the Regional Director, you will shape the operational approach of the department, lead key client relationships, drive commercial growth, and inspire a high-performing team spanning our Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Perth offices.
Key Responsibilities
*Strategic Leadership & Growth: Help develop, deliver, and articulate the team’s business plan, driving profitability, income growth, and cost management.
*Team Unification & Management: Lead and motivate a dispersed team across Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Perth, setting SMART objectives, conducting performance reviews, and steering recruitment and retention.
*Operational & Technical Excellence: Oversee renewal strategies, review lapses, ensure contract certainty, and champion the identification and support of vulnerable clients.
*Compliance & Governance: Ensure strict adherence to FCA principles, the CII Code of Ethics, GDPR, anti-money laundering regulations, and internal company standards.
*Change & Project Management: Lead divisional projects, implement change smoothly, and travel occasionally to other UK offices to share guidelines, innovation, and best practices.
*Culture & Development: Act as a positive role model, mentor colleagues, promote internal learning and development, and foster collaboration across a strong internal network.
Skills & Experience
*Industry Experience: Minimum of 7 years in the insurance market providing specialist advisory services.
*Technical Qualifications: Dip CII certified (with active progress toward ACII).

*Commercial Acumen: Strong technical knowledge across general insurance classes, excellent broking and negotiation skills, and proficiency in Excel/data analysis.
*People Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, troubleshoot, influence, and manage performance across multiple locations.
*Professional Standards: Uncompromising commitment to compliance, CPD, and treating customers fairly.
What We Offer in Return
We believe in a career that you define. We value diversity—there is no single "type"—and we empower our people to bring their authentic selves to work.
*A Culture of Innovation: Our successes come from people who are brave enough to try something new.
*Genuine Support: We look out for one another through everyday moments and bigger challenges alike.
*Purpose & Community: We are determined to make a positive difference at work, through local community initiatives, and via supported volunteering days.
