Macildowie are working with this client based in Langar, Nottinghamshire, to recruit an experienced Credit & Collections Team Lead within a well-established financial services business supporting a major international organisation.

The OpportunityYou will take responsibility for a team of eight, including five Underwriters and two colleagues specialising in Collections & Litigation.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity requiring a combination of technical credit expertise, people management and commercial judgement.
You will oversee credit underwriting and collections operations, ensuring effective decision-making, strong portfolio performance and continuous improvement across the function.
Key Responsibilities*Lead, coach and develop a team of eight credit and collections professionals.
*Oversee retail finance credit underwriting and ensure robust, risk-based decisions.
*Manage collections and litigation activities to minimise delinquency and protect portfolio quality.
*Monitor team performance and support professional development.
*Review credit policies, procedures and operational controls.
*Drive process improvements, automation and digital transformation.
*Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the business.
*Ensure credit operations remain compliant, efficient and commercially focused.
About YouWe’re looking for an experienced Credit Operations Manager, Underwriting Manager or Credit & Collections Leader with a proven ability to develop teams and manage credit risk.
You will ideally bring:
*At least five years’ experience in credit underwriting, collections or risk management.
*A minimum of two years’ experience leading credit operations teams.
*Strong understanding of UK credit markets and retail finance.
*Experience managing underwriting and collections performance.
*Excellent analytical skills and commercial judgement.
*A track record of improving processes and operational efficiency.
*Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
*A degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
Salary & Benefits*Basic salary of £55,000 – £68,000.
*17% target company bonus.
*4.5% Christmas bonus.
*25 days’ annual leave initially, increasing with length of service.

Working ArrangementsThe role will be based at the Langar office five days per week for the first six months.
