Consultant / Senior Consultant - Cyber Strategy & Transformation

The Opportunity

Hays is partnering with a leading global professional services organisation to recruit Consultants and Senior Consultants into its Cyber Strategy & Transformation team.This is a highly client-facing consulting role where you’ll help organisations understand their most important cyber risks, identify areas for improvement and turn cyber strategy into practical, sustainable change. You’ll work closely with senior client stakeholders as part of multidisciplinary teams, gaining exposure to complex cyber challenges across strategy, risk, governance and transformation.

What you’ll be working on

Your projects will typically cover three key areas:

Cyber Strategy & Risk
*Assessing cyber risk, capability and maturity.
*Developing cyber strategies and risk-based roadmaps.
*Helping organisations prioritise cyber investment.
*Supporting senior stakeholders with cyber risk decision-making.
*Working with recognised frameworks and standards including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, NCSC CAF and NIS2.
Cyber Transformation
*Turning cyber strategies and assessments into practical transformation programmes.
*Defining programme scope, priorities, governance and outcomes.
*Supporting the delivery of complex cyber change across large organisations.
*Monitoring delivery risks and helping ensure improvements are successfully embedded.
Cyber Governance & Operating Models
*Helping organisations establish clear ownership and accountability for cyber risk.
*Designing and improving cyber governance structures.
*Developing operating models that connect cyber, technology, risk and wider business teams.
*Improving cyber policies, reporting, metrics and oversight.
What we’re looking for

We’re interested in candidates from cyber security, technology risk, cyber governance, transformation or consulting backgrounds.

Ideally, you’ll bring:
*Experience within cyber security, technology risk, governance, transformation or consulting.
*An understanding of how cyber risk connects to wider technology and business priorities.
*Exposure to recognised frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, NCSC CAF or NIS2.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn findings into clear recommendations.
*Strong client-facing experience and the confidence to engage senior technical and non-technical stakeholders.
*Experience contributing to cyber, risk or transformation projects and programmes.
You don’t need deep technical expertise across every area. This is primarily a strategic, advisory and transformation-focused cyber role, rather than a hands-on cyber engineering or operational security position.

Senior Consultant level

At Senior Consultant level, you’ll also be expected to:
*Take ownership of defined project workstreams.
*Manage client deliverables and priorities.
*Coordinate activities across stakeholder groups.
*Support and coach more junior colleagues.
*Contribute to project approaches, methodologies and recommendations.
