Small Works Engineer, Fire & Security

M4 corridor with travel to client sites
£47,000 basic plus annual bonus and high OTE

I’m working with an established fire and security company looking for an experienced Small Works Engineer to join their team, working across commercial and industrial sites along the M4 corridor.

The role

You’ll be out on site installing, modifying and extending security and fire systems, along with additions, upgrades, relocations and remedial works. You’ll configure, test and commission systems, fault find where needed and complete the handover paperwork so everything is signed off properly.
You’ll be the face of the business on site, so you’ll work closely with project managers, clients and other trades, and support customers both during and after the work.

What they’re looking for
*Competent with Galaxy intruder systems and IP CCTV (essential)
*Experience installing and commissioning security systems
*Strong fault finding skills
*Able to read drawings and specifications
*Good communication and customer service
*Full UK driving licence
Experience with fire alarms, access control, integrated systems or networking would be a big plus, as would FIA, ECS, CSCS, IPAF or manufacturer certifications. You’ll also need to work to BS 5839, BS 7671 and the relevant security standards.
