London | Hybrid Working | Study Support | Career Progression
Love live music? Interested in what goes on behind the scenes of the music industry?
We’re recruiting for a fantastic opportunity with a well established accountancy and business management firm whose clients include musicians, touring artists and businesses across the entertainment industry.
You’ll join a specialist Music Business Management team, working closely with artists and their representatives to help manage the financial side of their careers, from day-to-day bookkeeping and payments through to tour finances, royalties and management reporting.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in bookkeeping or accounts who would love to develop their career in a genuinely interesting and fast-moving industry.
The role
Working within a friendly, collaborative team, your responsibilities will include:
*Managing day-to-day bookkeeping, invoices, expenses and payment runs for a portfolio of music and entertainment clients.
*Monitoring cashflow, preparing reconciliations and supporting financial reporting.
*Preparing management accounts, VAT returns and commission reports.
*Liaising directly with clients, agents, promoters and suppliers.
*Supporting the financial administration of live tours, including tracking production costs, show revenues and tour settlements.
*Assisting with royalty analysis and end-of-tour accounts.
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
*Has approximately 2/3 years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounts or financial administration, ideally gained in accountancy practice or a relevant commercial environment.
*Has a good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
*Is organised, detail-oriented and comfortable juggling competing deadlines.
*Has strong communication skills and enjoys dealing directly with clients.
*Is enthusiastic, proactive and keen to learn.
AAT, ACCA or ACA studies would be advantageous, although not essential.
You don’t need to have worked in the music industry before!. An interest in music, live events or the entertainment world, combined with strong accounting skills and a willingness to learn, would be a great starting point.
On Offer
You’ll be joining an established, supportive team with an exciting client portfolio and the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge of music industry finances, tour accounting and artist business management.
The firm offers hybrid working, professional study support and genuine opportunities for career progression.
If you’re looking for something a little different from a conventional bookkeeping or accounts role, this could be a fantastic next step.
