Job Description:
Full job descriptionYou’re the person who spots when an invoice doesn’t look right - and wants to find out why.
If that sounds familiar, I’m recruiting for a growing business where that approach will be valued.
This is a role for someone who enjoys sales and purchase ledger work and takes pride in getting the detail right. You’ll get to understand what the business delivers, work closely with colleagues across the team and make sure the paperwork reflects what’s actually happened.
There’s plenty to keep you interested. Different customers have different billing requirements, so you’ll need to stay organised, ask questions and investigate anything that doesn’t add up.
What you’ll be doing
The role is mainly sales ledger, alongside purchase ledger responsibilities and some support with customer payments. You’ll be:
*Preparing and checking sales invoices against supporting information.
*Making sure customers receive the documents they need, in the format they require.
*Working with operational colleagues to resolve missing information and billing queries.
*Processing supplier invoices and investigating discrepancies.
*Supporting supplier statement reconciliations and keeping ledger records accurate.
*Helping with payment queries and credit control cover when needed.
Who I’d like to speak to
You’ll have practical experience in sales ledger, purchase ledger or a broader accounts administration role, with a sound understanding of how the ledgers work.
Just as important is how you approach the job. You ask questions, follow things through and pay attention to what’s happening around you. If something looks unusual, you check it before moving on.
You’ll be comfortable with a busy workload, confident learning systems and happy speaking with colleagues, customers and suppliers to get an answer.
An accountancy qualification isn’t essential. Relevant experience, accuracy and a willingness to learn the business will carry more weight.
Why consider it?
You’ll join a close-knit team in a growing business where your contribution is easy to see. There’s room to build your knowledge, put forward ideas and become someone colleagues trust to keep things running properly.
The position is focused on ledger work, so it should suit someone who enjoys that area of finance and wants to take real ownership of it.
