About Us
Evolve Selection is a specialist recruitment business connecting talented individuals with leading organisations across the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Pharmacy, Medical Technology and Life Sciences sectors.
We are looking for a driven and ambitious Trainee Recruitment Consultant to join our team at our Head Office in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in recruitment, with the chance to take on genuine responsibility from the outset. You will work alongside a highly experienced team of recruitment professionals who will provide hands-on training, guidance and mentorship to help you develop your skills and progress in your career.
About You
We are looking for someone who is confident, commercially minded and enjoys speaking with people. You may have experience in sales, recruitment or customer service, or be looking to take the next step in your career in a role where you can combine communication skills with decision-making and commercial judgement.
What makes this role different is the level of responsibility you will have for assessing candidates and deciding who is right for individual vacancies. You will be encouraged to think independently, ask the right questions and make informed decisions about candidate suitability, while benefiting from the support and expertise of an experienced recruitment team.
You should be motivated by achieving results, take pride in delivering a high standard of service and enjoy working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Candidate screening and selection: Reviewing applicants, conducting screening calls and assessing their suitability for specific vacancies.
*Decision-making: Using your judgement to determine which candidates meet the requirements of individual roles and should progress through the recruitment process.
*Candidate engagement: Building rapport with candidates, understanding their career motivations and effectively promoting relevant opportunities.
*Vacancy management: Developing a thorough understanding of job requirements, client expectations and the profiles of candidates most likely to succeed.
*Candidate relationship management: Maintaining regular communication with candidates and providing a positive experience throughout the recruitment process.
*Interview preparation: Coaching candidates and ensuring they are well prepared for interviews with clients.
*Recruitment campaigns: Supporting targeted candidate attraction activities, including database searches, mailshots and other sourcing initiatives.
*CRM management: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date candidate information and recruitment activity within our internal systems.
*Team collaboration: Working closely with experienced consultants, sharing information and contributing to successful recruitment campaigns.
*Continuous development: Learning recruitment best practice, developing commercial awareness and building the skills required to progress into a successful Recruitment Consultant.

Training, Mentorship and Career Development
You will receive structured training and ongoing, hands-on mentorship from a highly experienced recruitment team. Rather than being limited to administrative or purely supportive tasks, you will be given the opportunity to take ownership of important stages of the recruitment process and develop your own professional judgement.
You will learn how to assess candidates effectively, understand client requirements, identify the right talent and make confident, evidence-based screening decisions.
As your experience and capability grow, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility and progress your career within recruitment.
To Succeed in This Role, You Should
*Be confident and professional when speaking with people over the telephone.
*Have strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
*Be comfortable making decisions and explaining the reasoning behind them.
*Demonstrate sound judgement, attention to detail and an ability to assess information objectively.
*Be organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
*Be motivated by targets, personal development and achieving results.
*Be receptive to feedback and keen to learn from experienced colleagues.
*Be based within a commutable distance of Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

What We Offer
*A long-term career opportunity within an established, specialist recruitment business.
*Hands-on training and mentorship from a highly experienced recruitment team.
*Genuine responsibility and the opportunity to develop independent decision-making skills.
*Competitive salary, dependent on experience, plus performance-related commission.
*33 days’ annual leave, including bank holidays.
*Long-service bonus scheme.
*Ongoing training and career development opportunities.
*Employer pension contribution.
*Free on-site parking.
*Additional perks, including retail discounts, wellbeing support and regular team events.
