Full job descriptionVocational Trainer
£40,000-£45,000 per annum | 2 full-time positions | National field-based delivery
An expanding training provider is looking for two enthusiastic, experienced vocational trainers to deliver short, practical programmes that help adults gain skills, qualifications and access to employment. These roles offer variety, national travel and the opportunity to broaden your training specialisms.
The opportunity
You will deliver engaging classroom-based and practical courses in community and, where appropriate, custodial settings. Courses cover a broad range of vocational subjects, so you do not need expertise in every area: we are looking for trainers with a credible specialism who are keen to develop further.
Training areas
We welcome applicants with expertise in one or more of the following:
*Construction and site safety, including CSCS/CITB, plant and vehicle marshalling, CPCS, NPORS, LANTRA or street works.
*Health and safety, manual handling, first aid or fire safety.
*Rail, utilities and related infrastructure training.
*Retail, customer service and hospitality.
*Health and social care.
*Warehousing, logistics and other practical vocational programmes.
Key responsibilities
*Deliver high-quality, inclusive training to adults from varied backgrounds.
*Prepare learners for assessments, qualifications and work-related progression.
*Adapt your teaching style to different abilities and support learner engagement.
*Maintain accurate course, assessment and compliance paperwork.
*Follow safeguarding, quality and awarding-body requirements.
*Travel to training venues across the UK and work collaboratively with the wider delivery team.
What you’ll bring
*Experience delivering training or assessments and strong occupational knowledge in at least one relevant sector.
*Excellent presentation, communication and learner-engagement skills.
*A recognised teaching or assessing qualification is advantageous; additional training and accreditations can be supported.
*A full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
*A flexible, organised and hands-on approach, with a genuine interest in helping people progress.
*Ability to complete relevant DBS and, where required, prison-vetting processes.
Location and benefits
Candidates based around Kent, Oxford or surrounding areas are particularly welcome, as these are important delivery locations. However, this is a genuinely national field-based position and significant travel, potentially throughout the working week, is essential. Travel and overnight accommodation expenses are covered. The package includes workplace pension, equipment and opportunities for further training and accreditation.
Interested?
If you are a capable vocational trainer looking for varied delivery work and the chance to develop new specialisms, we would be pleased to hear from you.
