*A broad, high-profile role with significant responsibility and exposure to senior leadership.
*An opportunity to influence the development of a growing Group finance function.
This award winning, culture driven business in a wonderful setting is now recruiting due to some unexpected changes. A business that puts the employee at the forefront of its day-to-day existence, this role will give an immediately available applicant the opportunity to operate in a responsible leadership role, while also getting stuck in themselves over a long FTC period.
Given the timescales, we are ONLY able to consider those applicants who are available immediately or on very short notice to start and hence for those who fit, this is a role which will move incredibly quickly.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a business at an important stage of its development. Taking responsibility for a broad finance function spanning multiple group entities, initially supervising one direct report and working closely with the wider finance leadership team.
The organisation is currently undertaking a significant finance transformation programme, including the transition to Salesforce, alongside a move towards a more centralised, functional finance structure.
Reporting to the Deputy Finance Director, you will take a lead role in the day-to-day management and development of the Group finance function.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Group financial reporting: Producing monthly management and Group accounts across multiple entities, with a five-working-day reporting deadline.
*Board reporting: Preparing monthly Board Finance Reports, improving financial analysis, forecasting and commercial insight.
*Team leadership: Initially supervising one direct report, working alongside the existing Heads of Finance and Managed Finance to oversee the wider finance teams, ensure delivery against agreed KPIs and support the development of the function.
*Financial control: Ensuring robust balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls, statutory accounts and annual audit processes.
*Budgeting and forecasting: Leading Group budgets, cash flow forecasts, reforecasting and reporting to budget holders.
*Treasury management: Overseeing corporate and custodial cash balances, bank reconciliations and investment of funds.
*Tax and compliance: Managing VAT reporting, tax returns and other statutory and regulatory requirements.
*Finance transformation: Supporting the development of systems, reporting processes and efficiencies, including the implementation of Salesforce and opportunities to utilise AI.
A particularly important aspect of the role will be ensuring the accurate and timely reconciliation of significant client funds, alongside maintaining strong financial controls and compliance.
About You
We are looking for a technically strong, commercially aware qualified accountant who can combine hands-on financial control with effective team leadership.
You will ideally offer:
*ACA or ACCA qualification.
*A strong background in Financial Control, ideally within a multi-entity or Group environment.
*Experience producing consolidated accounts, management reporting and Board-level information.
*Responsibility for managing audits, statutory accounts, budgets and forecasting.
*Strong Excel skills and the ability to improve reporting through effective use of systems and data.
*Experience leading finance teams and managing change.
*The confidence to work with senior stakeholders and take ownership of a varied and demanding workload.
Experience with Sage or similar finance systems would be beneficial, alongside an ability to adapt quickly to new technology and processes.
