Gleeson Recruitment Group are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established, nationally recognised organisation to recruit a HR Advisor into their growing People team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor or Employee Relations specialist to join an organisation with a strong focus on people, inclusion and continuous improvement. Working as part of the People Advisory team, you will play a key role in providing practical, commercially minded HR advice, managing a varied employee relations caseload and supporting managers to build their confidence and capability in handling people-related matters. Reporting to the People Advisory Manager, your responsibilities will include:
*Managing a varied employee relations caseload, including absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance, conduct and workplace conflict matters.
*Providing clear, practical advice to managers, ensuring people matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with employment legislation and internal policies.
*Supporting managers to address issues early, developing their confidence and capability in managing people-related challenges.
*Working closely with recognised trade unions and employee networks, building constructive working relationships and supporting consultation activity.
*Identifying trends and recurring themes from employee relations cases, using insight to recommend improvements to policies, processes and management practice.
*Contributing to case reviews, sharing learning and supporting wider organisational development initiatives.
*Maintaining accurate case records, documentation and reporting, ensuring appropriate risk management throughout.
*Working collaboratively with the wider People team, including Learning & Development and the Business Partnering function.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong grounding in employee relations who enjoys working with stakeholders, building relationships and providing practical solutions to people challenges.
You’ll ideally have:
*Previous experience in an HR Advisory or Employee Relations role.
*Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and the ability to apply it pragmatically.
*Experience managing a varied ER caseload, with confidence handling sensitive and sometimes challenging situations.
*Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and coach managers at all levels.
*A proactive approach to identifying trends, using data and turning learning into meaningful improvements.
*Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.
*A personable, approachable and adaptable style, with the confidence to build relationships across a diverse workforce.
