This Operations Lead position is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established healthcare organisation in a newly created role, supporting the ongoing development and improvement of its operational services. Working closely with the senior leadership team, this role will focus on improving existing processes, managing external suppliers and using operational data to drive efficiencies across the organisation. The role will involve overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting workforce planning and HR processes, and delivering projects relating to systems, technology and service improvement. This would suit a hands-on operations professional who enjoys identifying opportunities for improvement, implementing change and working closely with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Oversee day-to-day operational activities, ensuring services run efficiently and appropriate processes, controls and procedures are in place.
*Review and improve existing operational processes, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, introduce new systems and improve service delivery.
*Manage relationships with external suppliers, including HR and IT providers, monitoring performance and ensuring services are delivered effectively.
*Analyse operational activity, staffing and performance data, identifying trends and making recommendations to improve workforce planning, rotas and service capacity.
*Oversee HR processes, including recruitment, contracting, onboarding and employee administration, working closely with the external HR provider to ensure compliance and consistency.
*Lead and support operational improvement projects, including the implementation of new technology and digital systems, working closely with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
*Support workforce and rota management, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and responding to operational challenges where required.
*Provide hands-on operational and administrative support where needed, including covering colleagues during periods of absence.
Person Specification
*Strong experience within operations management, service delivery or business improvement, ideally within a healthcare or similarly complex environment.
*Demonstrable experience of reviewing and improving operational processes, implementing new systems and delivering practical improvements.
*Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret operational data, identify trends and use findings to inform decisions and improve performance.
*Experience managing external suppliers or outsourced service providers, with the ability to monitor performance and drive improvements.
*Good understanding of HR processes, particularly recruitment, contracting and onboarding. Previous experience working with an outsourced HR provider would be advantageous.
*Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with senior leaders, operational teams and external providers.
*A proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and support day-to-day operational requirements.
*Previous experience within the NHS, healthcare or urgent care services would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
